Are You Thinking Too Far Ahead?

productivity

Having a 5-year vision, a 3-year goal and a 1-year plan are key components to growing your business but they should not stop you from doing the necessary work you need to do right now!

The only thing you should focus on when working is...

Solving the business problems that are right in front of you right now and with the information you currently have.

As you solve one business problem another will show up. This is how you grow a business! It's like dominos, as you solve or knock one down new ones with new information will also reveal themselves.

As an example...

If you can't sell, just focus on improving sales, don't stress about building a team, that would be wasting your time and energy on the wrong things. Selling is the foundational skill to feed your team food which in business is clients!

Situational Coaching

As a coaching team, helping business owners just like you, we call this "Situational Coaching".  We help you diagnose what domino you need to focus on and help upskill you to solve it, but you have to solve it. That's your game, no one can or will do that work for you. So Stop thinking too Far Ahead and work on the domino right in front of you and grow your business.

Here are my coaching tips

In the sport of business what you focus to work on at what time in your business development journey matters! Work on the wrong thing at the wrong time and you won't move your business forward.

Here's how we help our clients break it all down so they 'Stay Focused' and get the right work done (use this as a structure for your own work).

Step 1

Break the year into 90-day blocks

Step 2

Set up what we call "Work, Rest & Play" sub-blocks within 90 days.  Side note - Working yourself to exultation helps nobody, your best at what you do when you have planned time off and playtime alongside your work time. It's OK and necessary to just bum out and do nothing.

Step 3

Determine what 1-3 Projects will give the business most thrust forward over the next 90 days that align with clients goals.

Step 4

Park all other ideas and projects in their Idea Car Park so they don't lose focus and jump to the next shiny new object idea.

Step 5

Work on each project from a 'High (Strategic) level' (planning how to do the work).

Step 6

Work on project at 'Eye (Tactical) Level' (doing the work)

Step 7

Accountability Check-ins and brainstorming ideas n how to overcome sticking points every 2 weeks via a coaching session.
